‘Monopoly At Maccas’ Mobile App Attracts 2.6 Million Australians

– News.com.au retains top place in Nielsen digital news rankings- Top four news entities ranking remained consistent

Sydney, Australia – 23 October 2017: ‘Monopoly at Macca’s’ mobile app launched to the Australian market for a limited promotional time during the month of September 2017, and attracted 2.6 million Australians 18+ to the app.

They stayed engaged in September 2017, spending 17 minutes and 29 seconds per person on the app. Three-in-five (61%) of this audience, were female (1.6 million) whilst two-in-five were male (1 million). The biggest age group was 25-44 year olds with 1.4 million (53%) using the Monopoly at Maccas app during September 2017.

DIGITAL NEWS RANKINGS – SEPTEMBER 2017 – NO CHANGE TO TOP FOUR

Latest data released today by Nielsen revealed that there was no change to the top four news entities rankings. News.com.au (6.1 million, +10%) was followed by ABC News Websites (5.2 million, 0%), nine.com.au (4.4 million, +1%) and smh.com.au (3.9 million, -3%).

When compared with August 2017, there were fluctuations in the remaining six news entity rankings. Yahoo7 News Websites (3.0 million, +9%) jumped from seventh to fifth place, followed by Daily Mail Australia (2.7 million, -4%) who dropped from fifth to  sixth place. Herald Sun (2.7 million, +18%) jumped from ninth to seventh place, followed by The Guardian (2.6 million, -6%) in eighth place. Next, was BBC (2.3 million, 0%) who jumped from tenth to ninth and The Daily Telegraph (2.2 million, -3%) which moved into tenth place from eighth place.
