Sales Consultant (FMCG clients)

About the job

The Sales Consultant is responsible for the P&L for the assigned client portfolio and identifies new opportunities for NielsenIQ. The Sales Consultant is responsible for expanding the overall relationship to broaden the engagement with more departments and C-suite executives. This role includes leading and driving contract renewals. As Sales Consultant you will also use your knowledge and appreciation of FMCG products and NielsenIQ services to listen to, discover and understand client’s needs. You will then be able to identify sales opportunities and leverage our unique value proposition. You will collaborate with our different teams to identify leads. 


Here are some points that would be your responsibility areas in this role, as well as some traits we expect from our sales consultant.

  • Delivering on revenue goal for your FMCG client portfolio

  • Confidently negotiating and seeking to drive contract renewals and win-win outcomes within NielsenIQ and with the client

  • Partner to drive value & retention through customer satisfaction

  • Full understanding of NielsenIQ services and solutions to upsell & cross sell

  • Understanding client’s business questions and turning it into a Joint Business Plan with clients that has actionable NielsenIQ solutions.

  • Building and maintaining a strong internal network with our other teams and an external one, by identifying key players amongst your client portfolio

  • Leading client meeting and handling sensitive client discussions where necessary

  • Developing the business, by identifying and penetrating new areas of growth.

  • Understanding the decision-making process and influencing key decision makers.

  • Transformation leader to introduce new technology and solutions to clients

  • Able to work independently, managing priorities, and maintain communication with stakeholders.

About you

The minimum requirements are:

• Bachelor or university degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field

• 3+ years’ relevant experience work experience (marketing, research, agency, CPG manufacturer/retailer, etc) 

• Minimum knowledge of market research/ market data and/or consumer goods industry

• Experience in Account Management 

• Fluent in English 

The ideal candidate will have in addition:

• Experience in contracts negotiation 

• B2B sales experience is a strong asset

• Good at relation-building and demonstrate strong communication skills

• Strong understanding of client and industry needs

• Engaged, positive team-player with a can-do mentality
