Job Description

About you

To develop trusted advisor relationships with senior client contacts to elevate the role of the Nielsen Innovation Practice within the client business. 

To drive adoption of the end to end Innovation Practice system in order to achieve profitable growth and related business targets in line with business strategy.

To develop industry authority through use of thought leadership at conferences and client events.

To manage and develop a team of IBPs.

Responsible for:

  • Manages direct or indirect teams.

  • Establishes high standards of performance, provides support, recognition and feedback to develop associates and establishes a strong team environment focused on exceeding internal and external client requirements

  • Responsible for revenue, profit growth and contribution targets

  • Delivers against cost leadership targets on an ongoing basis.

  • Serves as the senior representative and consultant for client communication

  • Leads client meetings where necessary including conducting external presentations

  • Handles sensitive client discussions, including those related to crisis situations

  • Initiates programs to build client satisfaction and further develop the business, by initiating meetings with new client contacts 

  • Designs and estimates costs of new projects

  • Responsible for the promotion, development and expansion of Nielsen Innovation Practice within the region or area

  • Promotes Nielsen business and interests and builds the company’s positive image through active participation in professional associations and industry conferences / seminars

  • Develops the Innovation Practice, through contributing to the design and implementation of training and development plans and programs

  • Develops strategic understanding of industry trends, competition and opportunities for Nielsen

  • Demonstrates recognition by client and other associates as an “expert” on Innovation consultancy 

  • Provides top management with thorough review of internal and client financials including budgets and forecast, expenses, overheads

  • Identify areas of opportunity and growth for the Practice in terms of new business development

  • Develops thought leadership material via internal network & external contacts – should be the window of Nielsen Innovation Practice team

About you

Knowledge of;

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Consumer packaged goods industry

  • Understand how clients activate innovations in-market

  • Excellent understanding of Innovation and development or launch of product into the market and the value they provide to clients

Education and Experience

  • University degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field a must, preferred Postgraduate or MBA

  • 5 years’ experience in Marketing Research/ FMCG sector

  • Experience in team management (experience with matrix organization would be an asset) and strong leadership competencies

  • Knowledge and exposure to more that one market (worked preferably in the international arena/ client side/ agency side)

  • Strong analytical mind and excellent numerical skills

  • Very good knowledge on advanced analysis, methods, and tools

  • Good organizational skills

  • Very good interpersonal skills

  • Strong business acumen and financial knowledge

  • Good knowledge of the characteristics of the relevant markets

  • Awareness of the clients’ needs

  • Ability to travel frequently
