Nielsen Sports is seeking a talented (Senior) Manager with a market research background to be based in Qatar. The role will involve the set-up, coordination and delivery of the market research programme for the largest sporting event hosted in the region. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with some of the most prestigious sports businesses in the world and make a tangible impact in the sports industry. Responsibilities will include sponsorship impact assessment, fan understanding and profiling, brand tracking, event research and commercial support. The role involves working with internal and external teams,third party agencies, multiple clients and their stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, set-up and lead a market research programme dedicated to one of the biggest sporting events in the world;
  • Participate in design, analysis and delivery of specific research pieces while keeping track of delivery of the bigger programme;
  • Liaise with third parties to deliver the brief;
  • Manage dedicated research report(s) to ensure quality, performance and client satisfaction;
  • Be accountable for the entire project cycle, from client briefing to final delivery;
  • Act as a subject matter expert both internally and externally;
  • Deliver presentations and participate in higher management meetings;
  • Work on-site at client sites while delivering Nielsen expertise and staying true to Nielsen’s values and principles;
  • Coordinate work internally across teams and regions while acting as a single point of contact to client(s);
  • Identify commercial opportunities within the pool of existing clients;
  • Continuously work on improvement of execution and delivery of projects related, but not limited to the dedicated research programme;

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • 6+ years Relevant market research and project management experience is essential;
  • Hands on experience in working on large and complex projects;
  • Strong grounding in custom research principles, methodologies and statistical analysis;
  • Ability to design a questionnaire, collect data and interpret results;
  • Ability to visualize data and explain complex things in a simple, accessible way;
  • Knowledge and experience in using analytical tools, such as SPSS, Power BI and other spreadsheeting / charting tools;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
  • Full proficiency in English, knowledge of other languages is a plus;
  • Knowledge and interest of the sports industry is a plus; an advantage
  • Experience of data visualization, and ability to explain complex things in a simple, accessible way;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
  • Full proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and ability to learn new software
  • Excellent project, time management and multi-tasking skills, with adaptability and agility to thrive under pressure within a fast-moving industry and a high energy team
  • Knowledge and interest of the sports industry is an advantage
