Smartphone – A Multimedia Center

The smartphone is slowly taking over as a multimedia device – be it music, video, camera or radio. 

A few trends:

  1. A fifth of the time spent on smartphones is on multimedia, led by consumption of locally stored content. 
  2. Users of Android devices spend a much larger share of time on streaming video content. 
  3. Engagement on Multimedia activities peaks early afternoon and closer to midnight, in contrast to Social Networking where the usage steadily rises through the day.
