TOP SIX NEWS RANKINGS REMAINED CONSISTENT IN JUNE 2017 DIGITAL RATINGS

     – 13.3 million Australians went online for news information
– News.com.au retained top place
– The Age moved into top 10 news entities

Sydney, Australia – 24 July 2017: Latest data released today by Nielsen revealed 13.3 million Australians went online for their news and current affairs information during June 2017 – slightly down when compared with May 2017 results (-2%).

News.com.au retained the top position in Nielsen’s digital news rankings with a unique audience of 5.3 million, and there were no ranking changes to the top six in the news category. News.com.au was followed by nine.com.au (4.7 million), ABC News Websites (4.5 million), smh.com.au (3.8 million), Daily Mail (3.1 million) and The Guardian (2.7 million).

Yahoo!7 reported a unique audience of 2.6 million and jumped from eighth to seventh place in the Nielsen rankings, switching places with BBC who reported a unique audience of 2.3 million for the month of June 2017.

Herald Sun went from tenth to ninth place with a unique audience of 2.3 million and The Age moved into the top ten rankings to 10th place (2.2 million).
