Back-to-back special episodes of FOX’s “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” were the number one- and number three-ranked primetime telecasts on broadcast TV for Friday, August 29, 2008.
CBS’s “Numbers” was sandwiched between the two, in second place.

Overall, FOX won the night with an average audience of just over 5.2 million viewers, while CBS took second place with almost 4.5 million average viewers. Univision and NBC claimed third and fourth places — with just under 4 million and 3.9 million average viewers, respectively. ABC followed in fifth place with an average audience of slightly more than 3.5 million viewers.
