March 2013: Top Education & Career Sites and U.S. Web Brands
March was a busy month for Internet traffic on U.S. education and career sites, which attracted more than 110 million Web surfers—about half of the Americans who were active online. Visitor traffic ranged from students preparing for college admissions tests to people searching for their next big job. Monster.com Network was the top brand in the education and careers category, attracting nearly 15 million unique U.S. visitors in March, followed closely by other job search sites like Indeed (13.8 million) and CareerBuilder Network (13.6 million). A diverse group of sites rounded out the top 10, including Family Education Network (5.9 million visitors), IBM’s Kenexa (4.8 million visitors) and U.S. Federal Student Aid (4.8 million visitors). Overall, visitors to education and career sites spent an average of 1 hour 30 minutes per person.

Looking more broadly at the top Web brands, Google topped the list by attracting nearly 171 million Americans to its sites, followed by Facebook, with 142 million unique visitors in March. Amazon saw the largest growth in visitors among the top 10 Web brands, as 6.7 million more Americans visited the site than in March 2012.
